The Holiday REALLY Starts...

Now I'm in the final stages of packing up for the 3-day-2-night OGL Camp. Needless to say, I brought my camera, so will be hoping for some photo ops during the camp, although, looking at the schedule, I wouldn't think there would be any. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to an exciting and, at worst, physically demanding camp. And of course, I'll be prepared for battle, as I brought my "weapon" (Yes, Jon, THAT weapon) as well as my "secret power" (Yes Crawldaddy, THAT secret power), so I'd reckon I'd be relatively well prepared. I'd be back online by Thursday hopefully, and until then if you need to contact me, my handphone will be out of battery. Thank you.

Awesome God

When He rolls up His sleeves
He ain't just putting on the ritz
There's thunder in His footsteps
And lightning in His fists
The Lord wasn't joking
When He kicked 'em out of Eden
It wasn't for no reason
That He shed His blood
His return is very close
And so you better be believing that
Our God is an awesome God

Our God is an awesome God
He reigns from heaven above
With wisdom, power, and love
Our God is an awesome God

And when the sky was starless
In the void of the night
(God is an awesome God)
He spoke into the darkness
And created the light
(God is an awesome God)
Judgement and wrath He poured out on Sodom
Mercy and grace He gave us at the cross
I hope that we have not
Too quickly forgotten that
Our God is an awesome God

Our God is an awesome God
He reigns from heaven above
With wisdom, power, and love
Our God is an awesome God

You Are a Dreaming Soul
Your vivid emotions and imagination takes you awy from this worldSo much so that you tend to live in your head most of the timeYou have great dreams and ambitions that could be the envy of all...But for you, following through with your dreams is a bit difficult
You are charming, endearing, and people tend to love you.Forgiving and tolerant, you see the world through rose colored glasses.Underneath it all, you have a ton of passion that you hide from others.Always hopeful, you tend to expect positive outcomes in your life.

What Kind of Soul Are You?

Saturday

Matthew 10

28Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29Are not two sparrows sold for a penny[a]? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. 30And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

32“Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. 33But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.

34“Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35For I have come to turn"

‘a man against his father,
a daughter against her mother, a daughterinlaw against her motherinlaw–
36a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.’

37“Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; 38and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

Thursday

Matthew 5

Salt and Light

13“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.

14“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Wednesday

Today has been a good day for Fuzzy Green Grass. In addition to coming up with a name for our latest studio album (Burnt Holidays), we recorded 3 more songs, I'm Gonna Find My Own Way, No More Tears, and Messin' With the Blues, which brings our total tally to 4 so far, including I Love. So far, No More Tears is extremely close to completion, and it will be available to the public at this very place for listening. Do leave your comments in the tagboard or comment box about the song or anything else for that matter.

Anyway, yesterday's barbecue was a blast! We met at Pasir Ris MRT at 4 pm and I was almost half an hour late because 1. I went for robotics at 2 pm and was helping Andrew do the Flush ambigram, so much so that I forgot about the time, and 2. it was at PASIR RIS MRT for goodness sakes...

Anyway, so we met at Pasir Ris MRT and took a LONG bus ride...all the way BACK to East Coast Park. And then we walked under the underpass to Pit 29...and walked all the way to Pit 52. Yes, while carrying all the food. The girls almost collapsed during the 45 minute walk. Nevertheless, we eventually reached the Pit, and we were so tired, I instictively...pulled out Tijah's volleyball and started juggling it for fun. I think I juggled for about an hour or thereabouts before stopping and having a drink of water and a few sausages. The food was yummy, sausages, crabsticks, chicken wings and all, and of course we enjoyed each other's company. After eating, played some footie with Tijah and Zam, then sat at the beach to chat with Jun, Ning and Zi. Of course, when I'm around chatting, somehow or other the conversation would move in a more religious direction, and so it did again. After that, we joined the Heart Attack people and had some fun with the group photo, before my father fetched me, Jun, Ning and Zi back home, ZL and Jack Jack went home by taxi, the other 4 girls took a train or something, while the rest stayed overnight. And that was a short report of what happened last night. Photos to come when I've got them ready. Meanwhile, patience.

Monday

Are Christians Holy?

Sure we are. Not because of our own effort, our inability to live a holy life, with holy thoughts, holy words, or holy actions. No, we are holy because the Holy Spirit lives in us. He is a Person, not just some spirit thingy. No, He is a Person, and He lives in us, and therefore, we are Holy in the sight of God. Hallelujah!

Friday

OK, good news. The first come first served basis has been debunked by my mother because she feels that it wouldn't be nice. That's good news to all of you unconfirmed ones. Your reserved space is still reserved! So treasure it, and do try to confirm ASAP.

Thank you.

Birthday Party Hitch #1

OK, had a talk with my parents regarding the birthday party. They got a great big shock when I told them that I'm preparing for a turnout of about 50. So now they are in outrage and are desperate for me to either 1. bring down the number of people coming, 2. stagger the times they come, or 3. change the venue.

I'm banking on option 1, freezing all invitations at the moment. Of those that are already invited, the 23 of them which are not confirmed may have to be dealt with on a first come first served basis. So to all that are not confirmed...CONFIRM IT ASAP!

Thank you.

The Giant Zucchini 2005 Birthday Wishlist

Yes, my brethren. I have decided what I want for my birthday, so that you at home won't have to crack your heads wondering what to get me. Of course, this is thoroughly optional. You don't have to get me anything if you don't want to. However, if you do want to get me something and don't know what to get, you have come to the right place. It will be in this order:

Type: Title by Name (Who's getting it for me) - Short description/Trivia

So ready? Here we go...

In no order of favour...

CD: Casting Crowns by Casting Crowns (Crawldaddy) - A very very good Christian album by a very very good Christian band. Can be found at Borders CD section.

CD: Fields of Grace by Big Daddy Weave (?) - A very very good Christian album by a very very good Christian band. Can be found at Borders CD section.

CD: One and Only by Big Daddy Weave (?) - A very very good Christian album by a very very good Christian band. Don't know where to find it though...

CD: Tangled in the Pines by BR549 (?) - Gutsy roots sounding country, with hints of honkytonk and southern rock. Found at Borders but should be able to be found at Tower as well...

CD: Perpetual Motion by Bela Fleck (?) - A banjo virtuoso. He actually plays classical for the whole length of the album. Yes, on the banjo. Have been looking for this for some time...

CD: Live Art by Bela Fleck (?) - More Greatest Hits than his Greatest Hits. Another one I've been looking for.

CD: The Bluegrass Sessions: Tales From The Acoustic Planet, Vol. 2 by Bela Fleck (?) - Just found this just now at Borders CD section. It's bluegrass, but it's jazz, and classical, all at the same time. I told you this guy's a virtuoso...and by the way it can be found at Borders.

CD: Brand New Strings by Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder (?) - A brand new album which pulls out all the stops. Can be found at Borders CD section.

CD: Live at the Charleston Music Hall by Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder (?) - Home of the Fuzzy Green Grass hit, A Simple Life. Have been looking for quite some time now...

CD: Worship and Faith by Randy Travis (?) - A thoroughly acoustic affair, by a God-loving Christian artiste. Here he records hymns and worship songs in his own special way.

Book: Speak Well English by Tomas Santos (Crawldaddy) - Hilarious. Made me laugh out loud at MPH.

Book: Banksy by Gordon Banks (?) - Who doesn't want to know the story of the greatest British goalkeeper that ever lived told by the man himself? OK fine, but I do...

Book: Intelligent Design by William Dembski (?) - Not quite what the title suggests, my friends. Can be obtained at Life bookshop.

DVD: Herbie Classic Collection (Love Bug, Rides Again, Monte Carlo, Bananas) by Disney (?) - Well, have it already on LD and tape, but the LD is gone and the tapes are wearing out, so a new set would be nice...

DVD: Ocean's Twelve by Steven Soderbergh (?) - Any Ocean's Eleven fan would be incomplete without Twelve.

Car: 1963 Ragtop Beetle by Volkswagen (?) - Preferably in L87 Pearl White with a grey ragtop. My ultimate dream car. Get it before Herbie: Fully Loaded comes out because I assure you prices will jump.

Toy: Close-to-1963 Beetle Model by Volkswagen (?) - At least if you won't get me the real one, get me a toy one...

If you find any of these and you want to buy it for me, do inform me, and I'll update the brackets. This is to avoid anyone buying repeated stuff for me (if anyone is buying anything from this list anyway...) Also keep yourself updated...more may be added!

Wednesday

What is Holiness?

Strictly speaking, only God is holy. However, when we have recieved God into our lives, we have a holiness that comes from God. This holiness is manifested by:

Separation

Holiness is the separation of ourselves by God from sin, the world, and Satan.

Dedication

Holiness is our dedication to God for His use and purposes.

Purification

Holiness is sharing inwardly His pure character and then to outwardly in our thoughts, feelings and actions more and more express His purity. This is primarily the work of the Holy Spirit.

The 5 Steps of Holiness
  1. Holiness is made available to what Jesus did on the cross.
  2. Therefore, to us, holiness is a standing before God.
  3. Its is therefore God-given.
  4. Since it is God given, we trust God for it.
  5. And finally it is expressed by obedience to the Scriptures and the Holy Spirit.

Tuesday

Crawldaddy and his newly decorated...mandolin. Posted by Hello

First and foremost, the main aim of every human should be to become a child of God. Check. Their second most important goal should be to live holy lives - be more devoted and committed to God. In progress...

However, we must not fall into the trap of worshipping holiness or worshipping growing in holiness. We should ultimately aim to worship God by loving Him more, knowing Him more and glorifying Him more. (Psalm 34:3) But what is glorifying God?

Glorifying God is putting Him first in ALL areas of our lives. All our thoughts, all we do, all we say, we do it all for the glory of God, meaning we let Him take first place.

1 Corinthians 10:31
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

It is also extending His kingdom, not only spiritually (2 Timothy 4:18) and evangelically(Matthew 28:16-20), but also in our body (Luke 17:20-21) and our activities (Matthew 7:21). We have to let God extend His control over our lives.

We do not glorify God when we are self-reliant, self-centred, and proud.

So, in conclusion, We seek to be holy as a means to worship God, by loving Him, knowing Him, and glorifying Him.

I Want to Know You

In the secret
In the quiet place
In the stillness You are there
In the secret
In the quiet hour I wait only for You
Cause, I want to know You more

Chorus:
I want to know You
I want to hear Your voice
I want to know You more
I want to touch You
I want to see Your face
I want to know You more

I am reaching for the highest goal
That I might receive the prize
Pressing onward
Pushing every hindrance aside
Out of my way
Cause, I want to know You more.

Monday

Proverbs 3

19 By wisdom the LORD laid the earth's foundations,

by understanding He set the heavens in place;

20 by his knowledge the deeps were divided,

and the clouds let drop the dew.

21 My son, preserve sound judgment and discernment,

do not let them out of your sight;

22 they will be life for you,

an ornament to grace your neck.

23 Then you will go on your way in safety,

and your foot will not stumble;

24 when you lie down, you will not be afraid;

when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

25 Have no fear of sudden disaster

or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked,

26 for the LORD will be your confidence

and will keep your foot from being snared.

So, this holiday, instead of just searching for fun and enjoyment, I will also be seeking God and his wisdom, an whatever I gain, you will gain too, because...I'll be posting it here ;p

Sunday

On the brink of my holidays, and I'm preparing for a relaxing 2 months to go. However, VI is still on probation so I'm holding my horses...

Meanwhile, it has been pretty smooth running so far. Acapella yesterday was great even though Michy the Great Leader couldn't make it because she had to sing for the PM. We did Peace on Earth, blended well, put in dynamics, emotion, conviction, and did much better than I expected...all in the span of half an hour. I say all Benny and Wensley need is a bit of confidence and they are ready for the big stage, which is coming in nary a month's time.

Anyway, we are all in a holiday mood right now, and Crawldaddy is over at my place jamming and setting up the mikes and everything for recording, so, tata.

Sunday

Boy, what a day today.

Morning presentation wasn't too bad. As far as Isabel is concerned...she tried her best given the constraining and stressful situation she was in. And it really wasn't that bad. Anyway, Michy was scheduled to play piano this week, so this means...naturally...I get to fondle her bass. Didn't play TOO bad actually, only a few notes off, but the touch was much better than the bass I used last week.

After youth went to Tanjong Pagar for some street soccer with the St. Matt's guys. As you probably could have guessed...it rained. Anyhow, played in the rain for a while, before finally getting the court. It was a slippery affair, and Thomas was enjoying himself sliding around in the court. Meanwhile, my speed was cut down tremendously because I was NOT going to risk my finger to a fall. Scored some nice goals, even though they were all scored in the same way. But who cares, I scored against Tombro, I scored against Sim-on, I scored against Ilango, I scored against the Thais, I'm happy.

After that, went to chill at the Huis'. Had dinner there, some beautiful food served. Had rice along with fish, tofu, and shitake mushrooms, and it was very nice. The Huis are so blessed to have a father who cooks as well as Uncle Beng Hong. After that, made my way back home where Crawldaddy borrowed my digital camera.

You know...I was just thinking...but I just forgot what I was thinking about. So, tata.
