Sunday

I shall make an exception today and start writing like the crappy blogs all over the world.

I shall talk about what I did today.

Yes, my friends, today, as you probably well know by now, I went to church.  Also, as you may not know, I also led worship this morning.  I think the thing about today’s worship was that it was something really real from my heart.  This wasn’t your usual come-in-on-Sunday-sing-some-songs kind of worship.  It was something I felt really strongly about, and I truly felt it throughout the worship.  I’m not sure if anyone else did, but I felt the Spirit stirring something in me as I was praising and worshipping Him today.  Of course, taking nothing away from the band, I think they did a magnificent job today and their playing today was definitely a blessing to the congregation.  But for me personally, today’s worship was not about the music.  It’s about the Spirit moving in the church, and most importantly in our hearts, especially those who are preparing for another battle in the final year examinations, and also for the O and A level people.  I sincerely pray that the Spirit continue to guide the people in our church, and if my worship sessions have helped in that, then I am very glad to be used as an instrument by God and being a little part in the body of Christ.  All Glory to Him; I am nothing, for everything I do, I do in Him and Him alone.

OK, then after that, went to my mother’s friend’s son’s baptism.  The service was pleasant, if not exactly awe-inspiring, but it was encouraging and nourishing no doubt.  Then…the big one…

Yes, my brethren…I have finally watched Herbie: Fully Loaded.  Excellent.  Brilliant.  Tremendously underrated.  I’m not even saying this in the context of a Herbie fan.  It’s good enough for teens and even adults.  It’s that good.  You don’t even need to be a Herbie fan or a Lindsay Lohan fan to enjoy it.  It’s not just a brainless comedy…in fact it’s just like the original 4, its got heart.

SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!?!?  Catch it before it goes along its merry way out of Singapore…

Friday

Well well well, I just realised that if I do go to Germany for the attachment…I would be on an unstoppable train whizzing straight into that phenomenon known to planet earth only as…World Cup 2006.  So, now I’m really pumped to go…can you imagine…the footballing stars of the planet all converging on that same spot where I might be going to…well…draw a bit.  Yeah, so I’m really pumped, and I’m really hoping its God’s calling for me to go there…but even if it isn’t…well…there’s something called satellite TV ;p

Thursday

Well, just back from my second last test of the semester, ProEngineer test…it was OK, although the whole class could not finish modeling the product, but I’d say results wise we’ll be fine.

But of course, that isn’t the reason I’m blogging now…I’m blogging because after that, Mr Garry gave us a little talk about our industrial attachments…and possibly overseas attachments.  Honestly, I’m quite psyched about going either Germany or Hong Kong for a period of a few months, although personally I’d rather go to Germany, however the programme in Hong Kong is more complete and they take care of you more…so I’m really not sure where to go, if I’m going overseas at all.  This is mainly because even though my results are adequate enough for me to apply for overseas attachment, I’m not too sure about my portfolio.  It’s fair enough, but it isn’t spectacular, and I’m not sure if it can take the scrutiny from the lecturers and the director.

The good thing about going overseas is that it will definitely look better on my resume, especially the Hong Kong one, because that is an attachment to a company, and a foreign MNC at that…and the German one is a University attachment, which isn’t bad either, especially since my father is intending to send me there after my NS.  However, it will definitely cost, especially the cost of living, and there won’t be like something for you to do there, just go there and do stuff and report back to Singapore HQ of your progress…but even if I want to go HK, my canto isn’t fantastic, and the only thing my sketches are good for are winning ‘hairiest lines’ awards.  And of course the last alternative is I stay in Singapore for the usual industrial attachment, which has its advantages too…

In any case, it’s not for me to decide…I’m committing this to God, and I’ll just pray that whatever His Will is for me I will know and follow.  To all of you out there, do pray for me too, I’m grateful for your previous prayers for me, and I’m sure that with your continued help I’ll be able to know His Direction for me clearer.  Also do tag and comment anything you think will be helpful to me, about anything really.

Until next time…Auf Wiedersehen!

The Situation in My House…

(The original conversation was in Cantonese.  For the benefit of the general public, I will translate it for you all.  Also, it has been shortened from it’s original length of about 10 minutes.  You guys better be grateful…;D)

Daddy: I just brought back some walkie-talkies, so that you (grandma) can contact Auntie Lita downstairs.  It’s very easy.  Just press the button to talk, and then let go to hear.

Grandma: Hello, Hello…

Daddy: NO, you have to PRESS to talk.

Grandma: Oh. *press* Hello, Hello…

Daddy: NO, you have to LET GO to hear anything.

Grandma: Oh OK. *let go*

Daddy (through WT): Can you hear me?

Grandma: Ya, I can hear you.

Me: NO, you have to PRESS to talk.

Daddy (shouting from upstairs): YOU HAVE TO PRESS TO TALK!

Grandma: Oh OK. *press* Ya I can hear you.

[short pause]

Daddy (shouting from upstairs): YOU HAVE TO LET GO TO LISTEN!

Grandma: Oh OK. *let go*

Daddy (through WT): Can you hear me now?

Grandma: *press* Ya I can hear you.

Me: Grandma, let go.

Grandma: Oh ya… *let go*

Daddy (through WT): OK

[Daddy walks outside]

Daddy (through WT): Can you hear me?

Grandma: What are you doing outside?

Me: You have to press.

Grandma: Oh. *press* What are you doing outside?

Me: Now you have to let go.

Grandma: Huh?

Me: Let go.

Grandma: Oh. *let go*

Daddy (through WT): …me?

Grandma: *press* Huh?  What?

[short pause]

Daddy (shouting from outside): YOU HAVE TO LET GO TO LISTEN!

Grandma: Ah boy ah, this phone is too hard for me to use, you use with Daddy hor.

Me: It’s not a phone, it’s a walkie-talkie.

[short pause]

Grandma: Uh, yeah, whatever.
