2 Timothy 3

1But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God...

In Retrospect

Would you believe it…it’s finally all over. No more make-up, no more rehearsals, no more spewing water on the floor. That said, it was one heck of an experience, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. Yes, not even a ’63 Bug. Not just the experience of being part of a ‘big’ budget production like Storm in a Fishbowl, not just the experience of performing in front of a crowd in excess of 600, not just the experience of being able to spread the gospel in such an exciting and entertaining way…but really being able to see and experience firsthand how powerful God really is.

If you asked me if we could pull the musical off in March after TMT, I’d have said it’ll be a stretch, but it’s possible. If you asked me if we could pull it off in May before rehearsals started, I’d have said it’s still possible, but it’s gonna be really really tight and everything and everybody is gonna be in tip-top condition, and we’re gonna have to cut some corners. If you asked me if we could pull it off on the first rehearsal of July, I’d have said we’re WAY behind schedule and we’re gonna have to be prepared if people are going to be disappointed. If you asked me if we could pull it off after the final full dress rehearsal 2 hours before showtime, I’d have said it’s still possible…but we’d need a miracle.

The miracle came. And credit to everybody involved to make it happen. Not just the time, the effort, the work put in; but even more importantly the prayers and the faith that sustained us through the whole journey. And so from first-hand experience I can confidently proclaim, this is not the work of man, but the work of God. Any professional would say that we were insane to go ahead with the show with so little preparation and only one failed full-dress rehearsal. But God undeniably and irrefutably claimed this work as His own, and the rest, they say, is history.
