Monday

WARNING: Large blog post alert.

Have to catch up on an amazing 3 days worth of blogging.

In chronological order, we start with Saturday. Busy as expected. Went to school at 9 am and then made our way to Ngee Ann Poly. Arrived at 10.15 am, 15 minutes before schedule, which wasn't a bad thing. Managed to get a peep of Fuhua the Kiasu's can-collector robot. Also did SOME work on our can-collector. Some, meaning, really very little. We brought our adapter along, but the plug was too far away. We didn't bring extra batteries, so we basically worked for just about 15 minutes to half an hour before the batteries died. Totally and utterly. So that meant the end of productive work in Ngee Ann, even though our booking was for 1 and 1/2 hours...

Anyway, after that, made our way back to school, had chicken rice and fried carrot cake for lunch with my mother, then rushed back to fetch my grandmother to our Confirmation class. Lesson was on the Apostles' Creed. Understandable, not too in depth.

After that, choir practice. The usual, nothing spectacular. Finished early because most of us were going to see Mich the Rugger's school's choir's concert. Rushed to Jurong for dinner and to fetch my father. Ate 3/4 plate of fried rice in just about 8 minutes. Then, went on our way to VJC. Actually, felt a bit guilty going for the concert...missed my P6 reunion because of it. Never mind, will try to catch the next one!

Anyway, we eventually found our way to VJC to find out some great news. I wasn't the only one in shorts! Anyway, we made our way into the auditorium and I sat next to Spewspittle the Vicar's Son and Joshua the Soloist, who incidentally didn't receive as much ventilation as I did, because he was wearing jeans. Also bumped into Nicholas Chew, famous for his blatant display of the finger in his class photograph. Anyway, the concert started off with one of my favourite songs...Sigalagala. It wasn't bad, it just didn't capture the essence of the song. Didn't have that..."ululation" feel. My mother said the SAS version sounded better (Muhahaha), especially the solo (Muhahaha Haha). Anyway, from then was really just looking forward to another favourite of mine, Pokpok Alimpako. Definitely one of the performances of the night. THE performance of the night had to be Pamugun. One day I'm going to get the score for my SAS choir. I'm sure they can do it. Anyway, the second half paled in comparison to Pokpok and Pamugun. But still good enough to make me miss being in a school choir. And with that, we move on to...

Sunday! Went to COGS for morning service. Was the...waddyacallit...General Election or something like that. We had a Judge deliver the sermon, and he delivered it very Judgely...slowly and with impeccably cheem English. If my memory serves me well, he was speaking on holy service to God and man. It was a bit hard to grasp his message, but I think I roughly got it. After that, rushed off to SMC for Agape Youth.

Played piano for worship. Couldn't make it for the practice on Saturday, so I basically had a short look before AY started, then just played as the Spirit led. Worship was clinical, very crisp and clean, and yet everyone managed to worship, even the band. That's What We Came Here For was a good start, and worship really kicked up a gear with Rock of Ages. By the time we reached Free, the Spirit of God could be felt moving in the room, and everyone was worshipping the Lord. Free was really high-octane, and it sounded really good with the new "instrument console". Things slowed down after that, eventually ending with Through It All and Jesus, We Enthrone You, before we finally ended on a majestic note with Majesty. Overall, worship was pretty good, considering I had no prior practice. Sermon was on the condition of the heart (Parable of the Sower). Just a timely reminder, rather predictable sermon, but still required nonetheless. After that, went for lunch.

Had char siew rice for lunch, before visiting the house of K'Dash the Guitarist cum Bassist. After he and Matt the Big had their share of Gunbound, we proceeded to NUS for football. Played once again in my Liverpool (Diouf 9) jersey. Was joined by King Solomon, who, as good a person he is, has barely any aptitude for football. Not yet, anyway. We conceded an early goal. Made a quick change of tactics. I had a good chance early on, skimming the outside of the post. Then, I scored the equaliser. I let a brilliant pass from Chaw Shing the Skillded roll past my right foot before I smacked the ball with my left foot, sweetly into the bottom corner. They scored soon after, Hanto the Temperate heading in from a corner. The match wore on, both sides visibly fatigued. Then, 2 minutes before half time, I scored yet another equaliser. Thomas the Military misjudged a header and I got a clean run on goal, just getting to the ball ahead of Kairong the Raul-lookalike and clinically finished it under his body. 2-2 at half-time. Went 4-2 down within the first 5 minutes of the second half due to suicidal defending. After that, Nored the Eccentric finally settled down and made some comfortable saves. The score stayed 4-2 until Simon the Drummer slid in on the ball and the ball looped into the goal. 4-3. Ilango the Forgiven scored the equaliser when Thomas the Military misjudged yet another header and Ilango the Forgiven had a clear run on goal and finished clinically as well. Simon the Drummer scored the vital winner after a bad tackle on Chaw Shing the Skillded, Simon the Drummer played the advantage and placed the ball beyond King Solomon into the goal. Final score: 5-4.

After that, went to Suntec City Kenny Rogers' for dinner with Matt the Big, King Solomon, Jason the Wierder-Than-Me, Hanto the Temperate, K'Dash the Guitarist cum Bassist, and of course, the birthday boy Simon the Drummer. We all had a great time of fellowship and eating, and I'm sure Simon the Drummer had a memorable 16th birthday.

Now onto today. Started off pretty normal, went to school at 10 am. Sent in the final applications for SRG. Also confirmed the dates for the internal competition. 29th and 30th June, SAS school hall, free admission, all are welcome. Should be starting work on the Gladiator bot by Friday. Anyway, reached home about 6.45 pm, after dinner, intensive piano practice. Arms aching slightly, but I need to be ready by tomorrow, so...just hoping I can play reasonably well for tomorrow's class.

Lord, thank you for being there when I need you...thank you that you are real...thank you that you have revealed yourself to me...may everyone know that you are the one true God...the Creator and Saviour of my soul...
