Thursday

Ah, busy busy busy day.

Woke up late, had lukewarm cereal in lukewarm milk and drank lukewarm Milo. Anyway, still managed to reach school on time at 10 am. Did the final calculations to our super-flipper, then set off to look for motors. Stopped by at a coffee-shop to eat lunch first. Chicken rice, not particularly nice...but, ah heck, still food...

Reached Servo Dynamics to look for Maxon motors. The guy thought Lim the Silent and I were Sec 2s! We'll probably never grow up. Not me anyway. I'll never ever grow up. Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional. That's my motto. Anyway, on the motors front, looked quite promising at first. He assured us we were getting "powerful" motors. Then, the first hammer...price. $400. That was WAY over our budget. The second hammer...delivery. It will take 4 weeks for the motors to be delivered. We don't have the luxury of time...ah well, going to Sim Lim tomorrow to look for cheap motors...

Then went down to the fire extinguisher place. Can't stand the smell of the place. Smells like concentrated ginseng. Still have that horrendous stench in my nose now. Hope it's gone by tomorrow...Anyway, was totally fruitless there. No one around, no one to answer our questions...we just left the place. Partly because of the smell, partly because there was no other compelling reason for us to stick around.

Went down to our old resting place, Pneumax. Did some more calculations there. In the end, found out we had to ditch our 2 cylinder design for a 1 cylinder Dantomkia style flipper. That meant we had to redesign and recalculate everything again. Left disappointed.

Rushed down to Ngee Ann Poly. The lab was closed by the time we reached there. It was a real "aargh..." feeling.

So that's how we ended the day. No motors, no pneumatic canister, no pneumatic rams, no microcontroller, and a sickening ginseng smell.

Anyway, went down to SATA for my medical. Will get back the report on Monday. Anyway, took a peek at my report. 1.74m, 50.9 kg. First time I've passed the 50 kg mark. Anyway, that brought my BMI up to 16.9 (or something like that). That's probably still grossly underweight. What the heck. I really couldn't care less. On with the report, I'm not colour blind. To end off, 6/6 vision for both eyes. That's really a gift from God, considering I spend half my life staring at my computer...

Another long day tomorrow...

Lord, there must be a way...and I know you have it...but I'm not extorting anything from you...in your time, Lord...

In memory of a friend, who has been hearing tribal drums in her head...>D (No offence, brudder...;D)
